As many of you may know, my wife, Janice, is a 5th grade teacher at Brownsville Elementary School in the Central Kitsap School District here in scenic Kitsap County WA.
She received a phone call today from her Principal, who informed her that the WASL scores (WA Assessment of Student Learning) had come in. Evidently, in years past, the Science scores for her school haven't been all that good. One school within the district in particular, Emerald Heights, has historically held the highest scores for her grade level.
Well, according to the new score results my wife's class this past year had the highest science scores, and not just for her school, but for the entire district!
I am so proud of my wife! She is always so hard on herself, and never gives herself the credit she is due. She is one of the most gifted and dedicated teachers I have ever known. Her kids love her and obviously learn a lot from her!

Rich, what a sweet post. How nice of you to express your pride in Janice. I wanted to be a schoolteacher when I was a kid. It takes a special person to do it. Please extend my congratulations to Janice!
Congratulations to her. That is a wonderful accomplishment. Its great to hear the pride you have for her.
Rich, congratulations to your wife for all of her accomplishments as a teacher. I still fondly remember all of my teachers who helped educate me and get me to the place where I am today.
Please give your pretty wife my congratulations. What an accomplishment for not only her students, but for her. I'm sure her school district, parents of the students and the students themselves realize how blessed they are to have her. Teaching is such a selfless profession. Bless her.
Nice job, Janice! Are you sure she doesn't want to switch to Emerald Heights? My son starts there next year.... :)
